Meet the Doctor

Dr. Calaway

A native of Eastern Idaho, Dr. Derek Calaway grew up farming in Terreton alongside his family. Not wanting to leave the Snake River Valley he didn’t have to travel far in order to attend BYU-Idaho where he majored in Exercise Physiology. At the completion of his Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Calaway, his wife, and their 2 children set out for the Bay Area of California where he not only graduated with top honors (Summa Cum Laude) but also added 2 more children to their family along the way.

During his time in school, he became fascinated with the different body systems and how they are all intertwined through the nervous system. From this fascination, he chose to specialize in a non-surgical approach to fix spinal deformities called Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP).

Through CBP he has been able to provide a fix to both pain and symptoms arising from nervous system dysfunction.

Having competed in sports throughout most of his life, Dr. Calaway gained an appreciation early on for how the body works. After receiving chiropractic care for both rehabilitation and sports performance, he decided he also wanted to give to those interested in taking care of their body.

His greatest desire is to serve those in his community by providing people with a higher quality of life. Much of his motivation to help others comes from the quote, “Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.”
